MTR Elizabeth line is seeking an Engagement Manager to manage a programme of culture-related initiatives and to grow internal engagement and strengthen the way in which we bring our culture and values to life.  

 

MTR Elizabeth line, the operator of the future Elizabeth line which will transform travel across London, has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and passionate individual to manage the development and implementation of the organisation’s strategic engagement plan. As an ambassador for our culture and values, you will champion the company culture, acting as a role model and driving greater engagement through a planned programme of activities that complement the wider business strategy.

 

The appointment of an Engagement Manager follows the recent introduction of a refreshed culture programme, including a new company-wide recognition approach. Using your experience of implementing engagement strategies, including reward and recognition, you will be able to shape this new role bringing innovative ideas and solutions to support business growth. Partnering with key business stakeholders, you’ll develop and implement action plans that build trust and understanding and support the management and development of our people. You will also play a key role in external charity, community and sponsorship activities in collaboration with other teams.

 

This is an exciting time to join MTR Elizabeth line, where you’ll be contributing to one of the world’s biggest transport infrastructure projects. You’ll be joining an award-winning organisation and working as part of a small but friendly and effective communications and engagement team who are brimming with ideas. The Engagement Manager will report directly to the Head of Communications & Engagement and sit within the wider People & Culture Team. You’ll work closely with the Culture Lead and HR Business Partners on a mix of new and existing projects and initiatives.

 

Key skills required

  • Experience of implementing employee engagement strategies and programmes (ideally including recognition)
  • Robust understanding of how to grow and maintain high levels or engagement, and up-to-date with the latest industry trends regarding culture, engagement and recognition
  • Able to recognise diverse stakeholder needs and translate these needs into actions that build trust and understanding, change perceptions and improve relationships
  • Outstanding written and verbal, as well as numeracy and analytical skills
  • A confident communicator, with keen attention to detail and a highly organised, methodical approach
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, professional and approachable with the ability to form strong relationships with colleagues across all levels of the organisation and with external parties
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage and prioritise multiple projects

Desirable (but not absolutely necessary) competencies:

  • Experience in planning, managing and delivering engagement activities / events
  • Familiar with using online platforms to manage employee engagement surveys and/or recognition management
  • Confident presenter and facilitator
