Apprenticeships are a great way to get a new career started or develop a current one. You are able to work and become skilled in the role whilst gaining a qualification throughout the process. An apprenticeship is a combination of work, training and studying so that you are learning and earning at the same time. At MTR Elizabeth line, we have given all new Customer Experience staff and Trainee Train Drivers the opportunity to enrol into an apprenticeship programme alongside their roles. The programme is completed for most within a year and involves applying theory to practical work. Since we started operations in 2015 around 500 apprentices have either started or have completed the one of our programmes.
